International conductor and Royal Holloway’s Director of Orchestras, Rebecca Miller, will reflect on her philosophy and work as a conductor, and in particular will discuss her views as an orchestra as a paradigm for society, the balance of the individual and the collective, and various aspects of leadership.
Questions will be opened across the topic of being a conductor – what the role entails, and can include questions on gender equality in the field. There will be an opportunity to ask Rebecca any questions in a short Q+A segment.
About Rebecca Miller
California-born conductor Rebecca Miller has earned an international reputation as Chief Conductor of the Uppsala Kammarorkester, Associate Conductor of the Southbank Sinfonia, Director of Orchestras at Royal Holloway University of London and a champion of unjustly-neglected female composers.
Celebrated for her energetic and compelling presence on the podium, Rebecca is also renowned for her extensive work with young musicians.
